Hi Guys

I have a question, I have had my cat now 7 years and when she was a kitten she had a couple brown spots on her mouth and never really though anything of it. Over time though she has got more of them in her mouth. Some spots are bigger the others but there all flat on her gums and never bother her she still enjoys biting me,lol and ripping her toy mice apart and doesnt seemed bothered by them. Im assuming that since she has always had these spots that they arent a problem. The only thing that I have noticed is that she has gotten more as she has got older. She is a Orange tabby cat

Thanks
Jeremy

PS- I dont know If I have asked this question here before, cant remeber yesterday let alone months ago,lol

Here is a pic

Mr Rosie has them because there's orange in her. Hers started of as tiny dots as a kitten, but as she got older they spread out more but their fine. Obvously if they changed like human moles have them checked, but those blemishes are part of orange cats.

I call them her beauty spots!

Cheers

Yeah it does look like a freckle, you can see in that pic that they are flat by the way the light hits it. It looks huge in the pic though, I think I used the macro lens on the wifes cannon camera.

Im glad to see that other cats get this also, My cat also has a spot just like your kitty on her gums between her teeth.

BTW, your cat has very cool markings.

As Rosiemac says, these are common on orange cats, such as our Punkin.

My Happy has bad teeth and when I saw the brown spot on her upper lip and gum I thought we were really in trouble but was told its only pigment.

So happy to see this thread. My cat is about 3.5 and his spots have been getting bigger as he has been getting bigger and just scares the heck out of me. Have taken him to the vet and he said not to worry but as they get bigger I was wondering if anyone else has had this with their cat.

His spots look just like Rosie's.
