I already posted a thread on here that basically said that my old cat (Johnny, male) is harassing my new cat (Cid, female). They have been living together for 2 weeks now. Johnny was (in my opinion) trying to play with Cid, but she wanted nothing to do with him. So she would run away and hide, but he would "stalk" her for a few minutes then lose interest. Cid would emerge from her hiding spot shortly after.
After much thought, I have decided to make a "safe room" for Cid and attempt to reintroduce them. I have equipped my bedroom with a litter box, water bowl, food bowl, and Cid's favorite toys (fuzzy mice).
I have had her in the new set-up for about 10 minutes. Johnny has sat outside of the bedroom door for 8.5 of those minutes, most of which he was "howling" at the door. He even attempted to rub up against the door and lay by it. Could he possibly be "missing" Cid? Also, do I take the same steps for "reintroducing" them as I would for an initial introduction?
Thanks!
