I started Kattie on hyaluronic acid for joint health. Well her new vet said the source of her limping is not her joints but more than likely her sore cracked toe pads. He wants me to start her on Omega 3's and vit e. He said the glucosamine chondroiten in cosequin is fine and that the hyaluronic acid is fine and will be beneficial to her in the long run. I was reading about the HA and noticed that it helps rejuvinate skin too. I wonder if this will help her pads to heal? I've never used it before, but it looks like a miracle drug for the joint stuff. I might start my dog on it as well. Kattie takes half a dropper in the am and pm with out fuss so here is to hoping. Just wanted to know others experiences with it.

Topically it's one of the best moisturisers you can get as well... You can rub a few drops in it, the cover her paw pads with a thin layer of neosporin- massage it well and wipe it off otherwise she will get litter and other stuff stuck in there. HA absorbs really quickly. Its excellent for the face, and for the skin in general.
In another note, I give for Bugsy for optimum bladder health.
Yes, fish oil/omega 3 is good, or rubbing a bit of extra virgin coconut oil on her paws too after the HA...
Good luck!

Cool I am going to try that. She isn't limping too bad today but it comes and goes. Also I was reading about vit c and how it boosts the immune system and is a natural anti-inflammatory. It is given to bowel tolerance and then adjusted. I give it to my dog and he does great on it. I read that because vets and pet food manufactures assume cats and dogs make enough vit c on their own they don't think it is needed. In truth cats and dogs don't make enough to have an effect, and many times supplementation does wonders. I just need to find a powder as the one I give my dog is a pill.
