I just took him to the vet about a week ago now and they said he's perfectly healthy. He's been eating and drinking find and hasn't had any changes to his diet or anything. His stool looks normal. His energy level is normal.

I was sitting in bed and I heard him start to cry like he does when he's in his carrier so I went into the bathroom to see if he was okay or stuck somewhere or something, and he was just sitting on the floor and he started convulsing in his sides a little, or what could have been gagging, and he threw up. This has never happened before, and now just 5 minutes after the fact he seems normal. Could he have injested something he shouldn't have? I don't even know what though. He likes to go into the tub. Soap? Shampoo? Face wash? Even maybe shower cleaner?

As a new kitty owner I'm just nervous.

Help?

Edit: And now he's eating and drinking. I'm confused.

Sometimes kitties throw up. It seems to be a standard cat feature. If he throws up often or seems lethargic after throwing up, that would be a reason to call the vet, but if it's only occasionally and he seems fine, it's nothing to worry about.

(But do try to keep the soap, shampoo, shower cleaner, etc. where he can't ingest any. The soaps are probably fairly harmless but cleaners can be very dangerous.)

And as he's probably not sick, the little guy is hungry because now there's nothing in his tummy!

Okay. He didn't do it again so I figure he's fine. As a new kitty mommy I just worry. <3

If you think that was scary, wait until his first hairball!

Yeah, about two days after I got Kramer he did the same thing. He was wrestling with Boots one minute, then stopped and threw up on the new carpet. Ten seconds later, he was back to wrestling.
