Oh and DH also managed to catch an opossum in the second trap...
Stupid thing was playing dead in there, so he upended the trap, and was trying to shake it out - it had 3 legs out, and was hanging on for dear life with it's last leg - all while playing dead still. He finally got it out, and tried giving it the remaining food, but it kept playing dead until DH was well and truly gone. Opossum probably thinks it's pretty clever...

I'm very curious to hear how things went overnight. Lily has been sleeping on top of DH since I've been away and it got a bit cooler, and Smudge hasn't left his side since he got home from work, but Lily is still sulking about this new cat in the house... I think both cats will want on the bed, and probably want to snuggle with DH. I wonder if there will be a truce, or Lily will continue sulking?
She'll come round eventually. Just make sure Lily gets lots of attention so she's not left out

We've trapped lots of them in Joplin and they are SO hard to get out of the traps!
I've been checking every day for news about Smudge. You just made my day: and I'm so very, very happy to hear the good news. All the good vibes worked and I'm sure Smudge will stay close to home from now on.
