So maybe this is a silly thing to be celebrating, but I just had to share!
Last night while everyone was winding down for the night, McGee was already snoozing on the fleece blanket I keep folded at the end of my bed. Cosette had been camping out under the bed for awhile, but soon jumped up beside McGee. She walked over to him and tentatively gave him a few licks on the head. I knew McGee wouldn't mind, and he didn't.
Later on when we were all snuggled in bed, I was petting them both at the same time when McGee bent down and groomed Cosette's head and face for a little bit. She showed no signs of being afraid. I actually shed a few tears of joy. It was the first real show of affection I'd seen between them. I figured they might just spend their lives in tolerance of one another, but it seems that they really do like each other!
SO HAPPY!
