I will try and make this short. We have had Gus and Dempsey for over three years together. Both are male and Gus is about a year and a half older. They have both always been indoors and would groom, play, eat, and sleep like brothers. The other night while we were gone Gus broke down the screen in our den and got into a fight with a stray passing through the yard. He wasn't hurt too badly and the vet gave me some pain meds for him. Anyway, as soon as we got home I noticed the screen and got Gus inside. He wasn't out for more than 20 minutes and judging by the fur won the fight. He ran to come inside and Dempsey went to check on him. Immediately they became aggressive to each other so I decided to separate them till I could get Gus to the vet. That was almost a week ago. Now every time I try and let Gus out Dempsey becomes aggressive and Gus runs and hides. Dempsey has actually taken swipes at him. I have tried rubbing them both down with the cleaning wipes so they'll smell the same and tried letting them meet back on their own.
I'm not sure what else I can do?
Any thoughts?
Thank You,
Chris
