Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Alley Cat Allies was founded in 1990, the first national feral cat advocacy organization.
They created National Feral Cat Day in 2001 and groups around the country now promote it every October 16 as a kick-off for educational campaigns about the protection of stray and feral cats and TNR programs.

This year the theme is "Compassion for Cats," and the celebration has grown! In 2008, there were 90 programs for National Feral Cat day in 30 cities. THIS YEAR THERE ARE 347 EVENTS and there are events IN ALL 50 STATES!

If you want to learn more about stray and feral cats, visit us over in the Caring for Strays and Ferals forum here at TCS, and/or visit Alley Cat Allies at http://www.alleycat.org.

It was inspiring to see all the events taking place today!
Our local TNR group had an education day yesterday, they held their spay day earlier this month. I am new to feral cats... ever since that big grey cat showed up on my porch last March, and I never realized just how many cats are out there. I so wish I had the means to do more, but I plan on helping any way I can and as for my four ferals (kinda friendly-to-me feral now) they will be well taken care of for as long as they decide to stay.
