Digital camera question

Hope this doesn't sound dumb! If I have a picture on my digital camera I download it onto the computer and then send it to Photobucket. Can I download a picture directly from the camera to photobucket?

I wouldn't think so, Lana. How would your camera know where Photobucket is? Maybe the newer cameras can do that. I have a very old Sony Mavica....still using those little CDs. Rick's Canon is about a year old and I can't do that with his either.

I think you have to download the picture to your computer, then get online and upload it to your Photobucket account.

Nope, as far as I know you can't. Some of the cameras around here are only a few months old, and they don't have that feature.

If your camera shows up as another drive on your computer when it is hooked up to the USB port you can do it.

Then just choose that "drive" when you are choosing which picture to up load.

I've done it when transferring pictures to my computer (rather than go through the steps with the camera software) but it can be hard to find what you want.

Yes, exactly. After you click Photobucket's "select photos and videos" button, click the "removable disk (x):" drive for your camera (mine shows up as "removable disk (G):"). Then click through the various folders available until you find the one containing the camera's photos. Select the appropriate photos and click "open" and you're done.

Sorta.  I have a kodak easyshare.  You can set them up so that you can tag the pictures in the camera to go to facebook, flickr and a few others, i don't know if photobucket.  Then when you hook it up to the computer, as long as there is an internet connection, the tagged photos go directly to the websites.

Great discussion here, I'm actually in the market for one just because I want to share and keep the memories of my little bottle babies. All I have now is a cheap webcam and while it is better than nothing, it just doesn't do justice to the cuteness...I need a real camera.

Example: Mo, an abandoned baby I rescued. She's soooo tiny

I would recommend Sony TX-10 for those who travel or are outdoors a lot, 1080i video, 16 megapixels as well as being shockproof and waterproof to 5m. If that's not your sort of thing, then I recommend the Sony TX-100, the same as above but without the waterproof capabilities etc.
