I got inspired by watching Project Runway. So I pulled out my sketchpads and such.

without thinking too much, I came up with this cute sketch. I decided I want to watercolor it.. and watercoloring's something I haven't done since college.. about 7 years ago.

Aside from lowering the ears (too far back I think), any feedback? What color cat should I make him? I was going to make him a tuxedo, but I like bright colors!

I just did a very quick coloring of a tuxedo in photoshop to see how it could look (gotta work on the lighting):

thanks all

I think tuxedo would be very challenging because of the black. there's hardly any contrast and Im afraid it'd look like a blob with pink triangles for nose and ears, lol

Actually, I kind of like the pencil drawing best. It's so simple and elegant, I'd just frame that.

That's what would happen if I tried!
Instead maybe you should try doing a tabby. Those are pretty fun...

Wow! That's really great work. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Great job! I'm not an artist by any stretch and I love to see the work of others. I think it's fantastic!

Oh WOW!!!!!!!!!! Very, very good. You are talented. I really love it. A sleeping kitty, something very special about it, makes me feel all safe and secure. Great job

Very cute! I think it will be kind of hard to get the lighting and contrast well since you are working from your imagination as opposed to a model.. I would be interested to see how it turns out in the end
oh, and I think he should be a Siamese

I was thinking a siamese too!

I would suggest, since you said that you haven't been painting with watercolours in a long time, that you at least copy the sketch and "rough" paint it first to get your groove back, before moving onto your original.
