Taking orders for masks and other things

Okay, I work with leather, along with fabric. (other materials too, like painting, but I'm better at fabric and leather )

I'm open for orders for leather masks and chokers/necklaces. All handmade and painted by me. I have some pictures of my earlier pieces, but they're very rough and not what I'm aiming for right now. I can make a custom mask, your choice of colors and design. leather is very malleable and, at least to me, fun to work with.

Chokers/necklaces: $40. I can add sparkly bits to them as well.
Masks: $75-125. Sparkly bits as well, but the price range is based on extra detail. A straightforward mask, upper half of face, with painting and such, would be at the lower end of the range, if it's really basic, I can price it a little lower than $75, but it depends on the mask. The more leather and if i have to join pieces, the higher the price. I'm working on an idea with making the kitty ears part of the mask piece. (I don't have any pictures yet, because I'm earning my fluffy angel wings keeping a friend and his roommate/cousin from becoming homeless after tomorrow.)

You have choice of colors and input on design. There is a limit as to how ornate I can go, though... but leather is a blank, malleable slate... which is why I love it so much.

Okay. Fabric things I can make and sell quickly: stuffed animals, and kitty lounge mats.

Stuffed critters: $40 for anything less than 12" tall.
fabric lounge mats for kitty: $20 no larger than 24" square. I have a ton of fabric, with lots of kitty fabrics.

Shipping depends on size of item, and distance, but should be reasonable.

I have pictures of my devil mask I made, as well as my first rough chokers... they're kinda rough, but I'm improving on the finishing techniques. Once i find said images, I can post them. If you wish.

Eventually, I'll have some stock and put them in my Etsy shop. But I'm kinda in need of funds right now... so I'm taking orders. At least 50% down. Especially on the leather items.

PM me if you're interested in anything. All handmade.

Also, my second book is up and out for sale. You can find it on Amazon for print copies and Smashwords for ebooks. It's called Remember Me, and the name is A.P. Adams. A portion of all those sales go toward Alzheimer's research.

Thank you!

oo competition J/K I'm getting into leather mask making myself. Hoping to eventually make a resemblence of a living off of it some day lol. Only been doing for a couple months now, waiting til I get confident in my skills before I start selling though.
How long have you been doing leather masks? I work with a thicker leather than what I've heard most use, I use 7 oz leather. I've been teaching myself with the help of Merimask's wonderful tutorial. I would've been lost without it.

I used one simple tutorial, and then went from there... I pick up creative things easily. I'm not looking at making this a full time business... just something I'm able to to that is different enough from what 98% of Etsy sellers do that maybe i can make some money from it.

Thinner leather is earlier to manipulate, and will keep its shape much easier. I've used some thicker leather for other things, and it isn't easy to work with. I have no intention of competing, but all i ask is that we each keep our own designs and play fair. I'm sure your ideas and designs will likely be different than mine...

(Sorry took so long to reply.)  Yeah, I'm not planning on really doing anything big for at least a few years. I'm still "learning" so until I feel confident with how they look I'm not really going to try to really get them out there. It would be great if I could make a living off of them at some point but really I'd be happy if I could just sell enough to give me some extra spending money and make up for materials. Right now I'm using veggie tanned leather from Tandy but its really cheap quality with a lot of imperfections and scratches in the leather. Once I start getting ready to start selling them full time, I'm probably going to start buying leather from Wicket & Craig Tannery. I've heard that their veggie tanned tooling leather is H.E.A.V.E.N.  I've been told that the backs of the leather resemble a soft and smoothe suede. They're more expensive but the quality is worth the extra $20.  Yeah, once I get done with masks I'm doing to christmas presents I'm probably going to team up with a friend who sells jewelry on etsy and we'll make matching sets which I think will be cool. Really I need to start remembering to take pictures of the masks I make. I have a bad habit of taking WIP pictures but forget to take pictures of them finished before I give them away as presents.  After I finish a tabby cat mask I'm working on, I'm planning on doing amore ambitious design that has a heavy art deco/nouveau influence. Its going to be more detailed then anything else I've done so I'll have to see if I have the patience and the skill to carve all the details I have planned. :-P
