Good morning.

Today's question is about our kitties.

How do your kitties tell you they are hungry? Or want attention?

If the food dishes are even remotely empty I have ALL of them in my face, trying to trip me when I walk, running into the kitchen to "show me" and they all act like the world is coming to an end.

Most of them are very demanding when it comes to attention as well. They'll come to me when they want love.

When one of the cats is hungry, he or she will stare at me. That's it. That's what they do. I'll be sitting down reading and I can actually feel them staring at me. If one cat starts staring, the others know right away what's going on and they'll come over and join in. Do you know what it's like to have seven cats sitting there staring at you! It can be unnerving. Even Tabby has realized that staring works wonders! And once I make eye contact? It's ugly. Then they start meowing and carrying on. There's no doubt that they're all starving to death and wasting away to nothing.

Especially BooBoo. The boy has bottomless paws, I swear, and a bottomless tail, and when I'm home during the day, Boo has a two-hour alarm clock. Every two hours, he comes looking for me and then he does his staring bit. And I swear it's a contest with him. Right before he starts to eat his snack, he'll give me a look and a short meow. Know what that means? I do. It means, "I win. Again."

If they want attention, why, they'll just find me and jump in my lap. Start face-rubbing my hands and arms so I touch them and tell them what pretty kitties they are. They start to purr and, when they've had enough attention, they'll go their merry way.
Usually to bed.

Yes if the food bowl is empty then all 3 are circling me and meowing and meowing some more and looking at me with the most pitiful eyes ever, hahaha.

Oliver is very pushy when it comes to attention. Kaymen will jump up if one of us is sitting down and Kasey just likes to sneak up when the house is quiet and she just likes to snuggle in close. Any sudden movements or loud noises and shes gone!

When it's feeding time, both cats converge around my feet, meowing LOUDLY. It's very demanding!

As far as attention, McGee will rub on my legs nonstop and give little trills. Cosette will utter these amazingly adorable little chirps and stare up at me expectantly.

Love all of the kitty quirks!

Inside cats
Food:
Da Lip - yells loudly; Da Magpie - learned her manners from Da Lip; Blue - mostly looks pathetic; Hissy - a weird yodel
Attention:
Da Lip - trills, tramps, jumps up and kneads madly; Da Magpie - crawls all over me; Blue - climbs up, sniffs my face, then walks back and forth on my lap

Outside
Food:
Jack - ready to eat at the drop of a hat; Tippy - a carrying soft pathetic mew; Splash - yodels; Zabbie - winds around my ankles and shoves the other cats around
Jack - gets right in your face; Tippy - leaps up shyly and gently; Splash and Zab are only tame enough to pet gently when they are eating.

As I've mentioned before, Autumn is very 'talkative'. She will let me know in no uncertain terms that she wants my attention whether to just pet her and acknowledge her or that she is ready to eat. If I'm on the computer too long she will come in here and start meowing loudly, as soon as I pet her and talk to her she lays down next to me and quiets down. Autumn definitely gets her point across

With Noodles; if she starts acting all lovey dovey and coming to me for attention it usually means shes hungry!! Otherwise she likes to be left alone much of the time.

Both of them will sit by the bowls in the kitchen and get under my feet if I'm in there. Sometimes they sit outside our bedroom door but since DH gets up first I don't see that so much anymore. Every now and then I get raced to the kitchen too. Usually this involves nearly tripping me.

For attention Noodles will come over to me and sit by my feet. Sometimes she follows me to the bathroom to lay on my feet in there. But like I said; she often just wants her space. Mooch however is the total opposite. She would be on my lap 24/7 if I let her! When I sit down on the couch (especially if my DD is napping or in bed) she has to be on me. Or all up against me. It could be 100 degrees in here and she'd still be on me.

Tippy-toes has some siamese in her, so I guess most of you know what that sounds like. She "talks" all the time -- if she's walking from one room to another she announces what she is doing. At night when she wants us to go to bed she sits in the bedroom and yells her little head off. Angel isn't too talkative and Tony just bangs on the door with his big paws when he wants to come into the bedroom and the door is closed.

In my case it depends on the cat regarding food
.

Panda only eats once a day, but about an hour before feeding time she gets so "excited". She will run, jump, and cry until I feed her. Just so you all know she is fed only one time a day for medical reasons, but the food is left down all night. So she can eat all she wants of a measured portion of dry and wet/dry mixed together.

Loki has food out twenty four seven. But he eats at about 9pm a whole cup of dry food. Then in the morning he is given one whole mouse to eat. When Loki wants me to sit in "his" room with him to eat his dry food, he will jump right onto my head. Then steal my glasses and jump onto the dresser where his dry food is kept. If this does not work, he will jump straight up and slap me (no nails exposed) in the face and run to his food dish. The latter never fails at getting my attention. Just another "perk" of Savannah ownership.

Old Momma cat when she is hungry will just scream until you give her some food
. Nothing more and nothing less. Yes
, she is normal too
.

Lastly, Shadow will just walk to a dish and meow calmly and then walk to me meowing if she is out of food. Yep
, that is why she is my favorite. She is "normal" and easy keeping.

As far as attention goes, they all just flop on top of me when they want attention. Minus the Savannah, he runs onto me like a monkey. He is not a shy animal at all
.

Luna will begin to say "now" over and over very loudly, if she wants something to eat. Or she'll bite. Right before breakfast Midnight will climb on top of me, purr as loud as he can and knead my neck/head/chest to wake me. Whenever
Lynxx
wanted more food, he'd knock things down.

Neko walks around and meows/cries. Nero will just jump on us or follow us, and Hoshi trips us up and leads us to the kitchen.

Kojak and Lucky (boys) are very bossy and will get right up in my face / lap/ trip me while I'm walking, until I give them attention. Isabella will very delicately meow and priss up to me until I give her attention.

Trip me, run through my legs, meow, follow me everywhere, under my feet. And if I am out, getting home past feeding schedule, they are all at the door waiting for me
. My little babies
