My little Smudgey cat has been missing since Sunday night
I'm in Australia visiting family, and am feeling incredibly useless being so far away.

DH has made posters which he's plastered everywhere, we've notified the microchip company, the shelter, vets etc. We have friends stopping by during the day to look for her, and DH put 2 traps out last night but only with dry food - he has tinned food in it tonight.

I really don't think she has any survival skills which is what's worrying me the most

DH has turned the house upside down multiple times along with a friend who's staying with us at the moment.

I just have this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach...

Sarah, I just saw your posts on fb. I'm hoping that little Smudge turns up safe and sound asap.

Sending lots of vibes that way for Smudge to be found safely!

Also, not sure if it will help or not, but when your hubby goes to set the traps again today, have him put a little bit of fried chicken in them if he's able. (When I worked for animal control, we baited our traps with KFC chicken at times, and had a lot of luck that way since the smell of the food is strong and attracts them!). Keeping you all in my thoughts today!

So sorry to hear this! I can't imagine how worried you must feel, especially since you're not home and able to help find her. Lots of vibes that she is found ok soon!!

Thanks everyone. Smudge is an indoor kitty - DH had a friend over on Sunday, and she let herself out since DH and a friend who's staying with us were cleaning up. The friend who let herself out may not have been necessarily looking for Smudge when she left. Smudge loves to try and sneak out the front door, so we always look out for her. That's our theory
DH didn't notice until bedtime the next night that Smudge hadn't been all over him after he got home from work. She often will just find a hidey spot and have a good sleep - but when he checked all her usual spots the next morning she was still not to be seen
