1 5 week kitten litter box trained, the other NOT

I am BRAND NEW HERE, go easy on me

I rescued 2 kittens at 2 weeks that were abandoned. I have bottle fed them and they are now doing great with wet food and the occasional KMR in a bowl.
They will go to the vet with in the next few weeks.

I have successfully litter box trained the male kitty- Ranger but the female, Earth Kit seems to not want to. I keep finding little presents all over the house. I know it's her because I have seen her do it. I rush over and try and get her to a box (i have two in different locations).

I have read the "Inappropriate Peeing Problems Answered" post ans just wondering, since there is sooooooo much to read through n these forums if I am putting to much pressure on her? I mean..... Should I be concerned or is she just a little bit slower to learn than her counterpart?

My husband is kinda miffed about because she keeps peeing on his plans (he's an Architect/Contractor) these plans are not cheap to reproduce. Every time I find a 'present' I use a pet stain and odor remover. SHe has several locations she likes to go. I keep trying to catch her and put her in the box and stimulate the elimination so she knows it's her box but.....

Thanks

Do you have a small room or bathroom that you can keep them in? You can set up the boxes in there, that way they are always close to a box and there's no way she can go on his drawings. Clean up is also easier because it's not carpet.

Little kittens usually don't realize until they're very close that they have to go - by confining them to a small room, it keeps them close to a box.

great idea! I've been trying to keep them fairly confined but they seem to get around any obstacle I put in front of them....just try and get through a door kitty's

I'll give it a shot. Thankfully I have wood floors. They are great for potty training. I have a toddler that just learn as well.

Ok update. I set up a safe barrier in the entry way/laundry room area of my house. They seem to like there, soft comfy bed, 2 cat boxes in opposite corners (1 in laundry room, 1 in entry way). It took a few days but Eartha is doing her business in the cat boxes. I clean them whenever i see poop and change out the litter every other day. So YAYA!

I have been letting them roam the house a little bit more often the last few days. I have not noticed any pee presents till this morning. <sigh> SHe left to piddles by my hubby plans again. I used am enzyme odor remover cleaner on them before. So.... I just did it again and sprinkled lemon juice there. Hoping this deters her from now on. I mean...what gives kitty?! DO i need to get another box and put it in that corner and move hubbys plans. I'd prefer not to have a litter box in my kitchen/dining room/office area but deal with it I have to.

Suggestions?

Litter boxes can be quite unobtrusive if managed properly. Sounds counterintuitive, but the more boxes you have, the less they smell... Three boxes is probably right for two cats. Scoop daily. I use those big plastic boxes--you know, the storage containers, about eighteen inches high--and hardly any litter spills out of those. Of course your kittens are too small to jump into them right now, but once they're big enough, I strongly recommend those as opposed to regular litter boxes. I have two boxes in my apartment--one in the bedroom, one in the living room--and only very rarely have noticeable odor.
