licking her fur

should I be worried. my cat keeps licking her fur. she is feral and lives out doors. it is getting cold out. is she getting ready for winter by licking like that. she also looks like she put on weight. is that just her winter fur making her look big and furry.

I'm sure since you have a cat you must be aware of this- but all cats lick their fur to clean themselves, unless something is wrong with them. Is she licking a lot more than usual? She may also be gaining weight to keep warm, along with her winter coat making her look a bit larger.
