Anal Leakage...ugh.

Thread Starter
My girl Lily is a DSH. She is 3 years old and is quite 3 (not emaciated- just very slender) but she is petite all the way around. Her sister, Moo is chunky, and 6 months younger.

Anyway, Lily is a mess. Literally, I feel like she doesn't bathe appropriately. (moo is always clean!) Lately I've noticed that her rump is always dirty. there is always poo stuck to her fur. And she is squirting anally randomly. She had her anal sacs cleaned out and that hasn't made an improvement.

Any help would be appreciated as I really can't afford a gamit of blood tests/ultrasounds etc.

I might expect the occasional "poo in the fur" from a long haired cat, but definitely not a short haired cat...and never "random anal squirting." You really need to take her to the vet. It can't be comfortable for her. It sounds like she has diarrhea, is allergic to her food, has IBS or something (the kitten I had that did this was treated for lots of parasites only to later find out he was allergic to his food and it was causing bowel irritation as it passed through. On the right food, he is fine!) Only a vet can tell you for sure. Please don't let her suffer (and if this has been going on awhile, you can be assured that she doesn't like it any more than you do!) - get "care credit" if you need to, but please take her to be seen!
