I took him to the vet this morning. They said 1. He is definitely a HE.
and 2. He looks great!
He got his first de-worming and did great. Of course all of the ladies at the office went gaga over him. Who could resist?

Oh...and I think I figured out the poo thing...WARM water...really warm water.

Now...my biggest question and one that I can't seem to get anyone to agree on: how long do I have to feed him every 2 hours? Right now, he can sleep for about 3-4 hours before waking up and even making a peep. I have to wake him to feed him. He is taking about 15ml per feeding. Does that mean I can wait until he wakes or do I still need to be feeding every 2-3 hours?

I will add a picture just for fun...and because he is so stinkin' cute! Sorry it is a little blurry...he moves fast and it is hard to take a picture while holding a wiggly baby! LOL

I can't help you on the feeding question, but I wanted to comment on just how stinkin' cute he is
, and what a wonderful thing this is that you are doing! So happy things went well at the vet!

I don't think I'd wake him up to feed him...but real experts might disagree.

I just keep thinking about my human children...I never woke them up to eat...they always let me know when they were hungry! And they are now 8 and 12, so apparently they made it. LOL

OH MY!!!! Is Meowgie ever the most darling little thing
. And he looks feisty in that picture. AWWWW he is thriving under your care, just warms my heart to no end.
I don't think you have to wake him either to eat. But I wouldn't let him go more than four hours
. Ya just gotta love the little tiny baby kittens

He's so cute
I don't know what to tell you about bottle feeding other than to call and ask your vet

On the feeding schedule, I'd check his belly and decide from that. If, after 2 hours his belly is still full/tight, I'd let him sleep. But, be careful, he's still extremely vulnerable. At 3-4 weeks, space it out to 3-4 hours. If he is refusing feedings at 2 hours, extend the length of time between feedings. If, when you wake him up, he goes crazy for the food, keep him at 2 hours.

There really isn't a 'right' answer, just take your cues from him. He'll let you know what he needs.

Gotcha. Sometimes he even refuses food at 3-3.5 hours. I notice that when I give him more time, he eats more. When I wake him up or give him less time, he sips on the milk, but doesn't take as much. I think it is very much like with my human babies when they were nursing. No two are alike and you just have to take your cues from them and feed them when they are hungry. I appreciate your insight. I think maybe I just needed permission to follow my gut.

I fed my bottle baby every 3 hours for the first 3 weeks. Then my vet told me to go every 4 hours. Lucky always let me know when she wanted food.
