Dern it, Oh cheeze and crackers! Apt #1 I got called into work.

Apt#2 We had a flood. A big scarry 5.75 inches in 2 hrs. Street flooding like I have never seen. I brought Hubby to work, we share a car. Took my new Honda for a swim. Was stuck at his work , could not get home to go to pick up Binky. could not get home at all. Spent the morning at The university where he teaches. I was thinking at first OK I can just sit in on his class for a while, but college was canceled.

3rd try...I cant catch that cat! Something about me she read as, "Be afraid, be very afraid" She ran before I even got the carrier out. I chased her about the house, closing off doors and such. She was way to smart to run into the bathroom which is what I wanted. I blocked off one of the halls with boxes. Yea right! She flew over them and quite impressivly!

I gave up, called the vet to reschedual again. Funny thing is that as I sat down in defeat, guess who shows up for a snuggle?

Maybe the 4th time is the charm?

I know exactly how you feel. I have a huge problem getting Autumn into the carrier and I also have had to cancel appointments with the vet because of that. I dread when it is time for her annual check-up. I even lose sleep over it the night before, she is really a problem.

I would be afraid.
It sounds like Binky has powers beyond the average cat.

Fortunately, I have never missed an appointment, but came close a few times with Much (RIP). I learned to close off all of the rooms before I pulled out the carrier. Even then, she would disappear. I had to check all of the cabinets and corners. At times, I thought she was a chameleon, blending into the draperies and furniture. On average, it would take me 15 minutes to locate this cat.

Put the cat carrier in the car. Then, get said cat by saying sweetly "here, kitty kitty" - you can even pull out the tuna if you want to bribe her a bit. Then take her out to the car and put her in the carrier (with a chunk of tuna for good measure and so she doesn't kill you later
).

Both of my cats know when we are up to something, we don't even have to have the carrier out. We have actually had to take the bed apart (remove mattress, remove box springs, extract cat) for Cindy.
