Well, it appears the alternator on my car has gone out. Either that or it is the belt. One of the assistant pastors of our church is a mechanic and will fix it for us, but until then, I gotta take the bus to work.

It takes 1 hr and 3 buses to get there and for the same 3 buses almost 2 hours to get home!!!!

Sigh....... I need a new car.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Alternator or belt it should be a cheap easy fix...well depending on the year and model. I had to replace the alternator in my 89 escort and I got a refurb one for 40 bucks and it ran great.

Ouch!
Nothing worse than worrying about car repairs! Hopefully you'll be able to have it fixed fairly painlessly.

Our car still runs well but is getting older and we're starting to worry, so we applied to buy a new Ford Focus on the weekend. We'll actually find out this morning if everything is going to go through, here's hoping!

If its just a belt, that's fairly cheap. Alternators can be, but can also be expensive. I will hope for you that it is a cheap one!

As for labor, they're generally quick and easy! I replaced the one in my Camaro in the parking lot one time while waiting for the hubby to get off work

Pastor Ron said it is the belt. He doesn't know when he can get to it though, so I am still taking the bus. I hate taking the bus!

I feel your pain. my car eats altenators... I have been through about 5 now. Its rather annoying. But at least you live somewhere that there are buses! I do now, but I havent in the past. That makes life very very difficult.
