OMG I am fuming, really am,we have used the same take a way each week for about 6 months and have got on with them well. They have just introduced a new text your order service so I tried it tnight,I texted our order and had no response,I thought give them a chance its new and they may be inundated with orders.Ok so after 2 hours...nothing.another half hour and we got a call on the house phone to confirm what we had ordered,I clarified it and was very polite obviously expecting delivery soon.
Another half hour passed then a phone call on my mobile, the same man to yet again clarify our order,I said leave it now we are past hungry but he said no its coming now and no charge so I thought ok brill.
half hour later still nothing...............20 mins later knock on the door,I was still polite and said thankyou and he said we had to pay,I would not have objected to pay at all but I had been told no charge so I told him this and he phoned his boss, his boss said no I meant no pay for text message.Ahem text costs me 10p and most are free nowadays, why didn't he just say discount instead of no charge in the first place?Well I sent the man away and then I phoned the takeaway myself, the man on the other end of the phone said yeah I meant no charge for phone calls I made to you!!OMG
?excuse my french. So I said just forget it and forget our custom he said goodbye and put the phone down

So anyway I phoned another takeaway and all has been well with that but 20 mins after my phone call to the previous takeaway I get a phone cal off him again and he said you don't complain either because we don't care,we have plenty customers without you,so I said goodbye and put the phone down, next min I get a text off them which simply says don't care.
OMG I am fuming, totally, how dare they be so rude to me.
Ok rant over

Wow! Someone needs a lesson in Customer Service!! That or a "chill pill!"

I remember once in high school my parent's ordered a pizza from a new place. The driver got so lost finding our house it took 4 hours!! This was in the days before everyone had a cell phone so that didn't help. It was free but I think my step-dad still tipped the poor guy!

I might invest in an hour standing in front of the shop with a sign like, "Don't eat or shop here, they told me they don't want your business."

Wow thats unreal. What was the point in doing this text to order if they are unresponsive in the first place then....idiots...when they do answer.

That can't last much longer.

Do they have a corporate office or are they local? If they are corporate, I would call or write them with the location and what happened. I think they would be very interested in the manager's comments.

But as Mike said, an hour or two with a sign might get the message across too.

We order from there usually once every week so they have lost a whole load of cash really if you add it up over the year. The other take a way I ordered came within 20 mins and it was really nice,I told the guy what had happened and he was gobsmacked. The other take a way is just a small shop from what I know.I am not sure what to do,I just cannot believe the rudeness to be honest.x

And I'll stand there with you. That takes the top prize for rudeness.

The problem is that the place is in own so at night there are a lot of drunks around so if I stood there with a sign they would either a-laught at me or b-cause a riot
I have contacted just eat which is an online comany where you can order takeaways from and get them delivered and pay by card if you don't have the cash on you, thats what I usually use, last night is the first time I used the new text mesaging service.Just eat arent very helpful as I didn't order through them but the point is that they have this takeaway on their list and they should know what the customer service is like as it could happen to anyone. Not really sure what else to do,the man that brought our other takeaway (which arrived in 20 mins-even though we were about past hunger) said that it was disgusting and it's their job to make sure that the customer is happy he said that he should have explained what no charge meant if he didn't mean the whole meal as no charge means free in most peoples book.x

Last night I ordered take out from a restaurant we use monthly. My dh picked it up on the way home from work.

My meal was missing from the bag!!! To make it worse, it's the second time in a month that's happened, although from different restaurants.

I called and after being on hold for a long time, they said we could either drive back into town for the food, or they'd send coupons for free food. I took the coupons.

Your situation sounds MUCH worse.

Do you have a rating service for restaurants in your area like Zagat or Yelp? I would definitely put in a bad rating for them, with complete facts.

Wow, talk about bad customer service.

We have this system where you can order your food through a website which has probably hundreds of food places that use this service. I usually always order from the place which is very near me (last time it took 14 minutes from them to bring the order
)
Some time ago I tried another place because it was cheaper. The first order was fine, and the next 3 orders were all missing several toppings from the pizzas.
I just left them bad feedback and will not be ordering from them anymore.

Well I just had a random text from them it said "Hi,I am the manager from pizza 4 u,I believe that last night two of my members of staff caused trouble for you.I send my apologies and next time you order from us we will send you a special kebab for free".Hmmmmm,it was from the same number and I am sorry I do not accept apologies from text, why not ring me and speak to me that is good customer service not sending a silly text.I also think the "special kebab" may be contaminated in some way I just do not trust these people at all.x

Definitely write a response for Yelp.com or Urbanspoon.com! Or you could do it on google! Google the name of the place and it should pop up on google maps, then click "reviews" and "write a review"

That's unreal! How could people be so inconsiderate? I'd call the manager and tell them it's going to take a whole lot more than a "special kebab" to make me ever consider using them again.
