I'm on my 3rd different type of food, what I initially thought was a litter allergy has to be a food allergy. Has anyone tried this Evolve brand food? It claims to contain no wheat, corn , or soy and if safe for cats 3lbs and up.

I'm basically going down a list trying to find out what is causing my poor baby to "over groom" and really pick at his poor feet and other parts of his body.

For wet food I'm giving him Natural life (safe for all ages) chicken and turkey formula...any suggestions or thoughts?

If you are trying to rule out allergies in a cat you need to switch their food (wet AND dry) to a Limited Ingredient Diet (L.I.D.) It will have only one source of protein and one source of carbs. The most common kind to use is Natural Balance.

Yup, we've tried Chicken, Turkey, and Fish. IIRC, they all have fish in the recipe and smell a bit fishy. Big chunks of rice. Overall looks like good ingredients though.

Got em on clearance for 50 cents a can so I bought a kajillion (well 48cans heh), and despite eating them for so long its still both Wesley and Buttercup's favorite brand taste wise. They clean the plate SO fast!

Edit: Oops, I'm stupid, you mean Evolve dry food. Never tried it, sorry, just the canned stuff.

I had a cat that was allergic to turkey, and nothing else. Because of this she overgroomed her whole under side bare, and had chin acne. Once the turkey was eliminated from her diet, it all cleared up, and it never happened again.

Just my own experience.

They probably like Science Diet better because it is full of artificial flavors and/or animal digest. It's like McDonalds to them. Tastes awesome, but isn't healthy.

It's best to feed a variety anyways, but if you are feeding dry the only way to do that is to feed 1/4th cup of each kind all mixed together. With wet it's much easier, you could just put down all different flavors/brands whenever you want.

I do Minka. A tablespoon of can food in the morning. Then the dry in a large bowl for free range. It prevents the compation and throwing up
