99th Birthday!

I just wanted to brag and post that my grandma is 99 today!

She's doing well, mind is sharp as a tack, but she doesn't get around well due to bad arthritis in her knees. Still, she is a great woman, has lots of stories of course, and I wish I could give her an actual birthday hug in person, but she's in Tennessee, and I'm not. So, Happy Birthday Grandma!!!

Happy Birthday to your grandma. One more year and we'll see her on the Today Show with Willard Scott wishing her a happy birthday!

Hope everyone knows what I'm talking about. He does the "Smuckers Jelly" 100+ birthday wishes on the Today Show.

Aww! That's wonderful!! Happy birthday to your Grandma!!

DH's grandmother was like that at that age too. It was nice to talk with her but she got a little lonely. She lived in an assisted living community; where some people got more assistance than others. At first it was more of a retirement place. She had a hard time keeping friends there who she could have an intelligent conversation with. The sweet thing was my father-in-law was her best friend. 2 peas in a pod. (And she also lived in TN) I hope your Grandma has a wonderful year leading up to the big 100!!

Happy birthday to your gran and that comes from the bottom of my heart.I really believe my nan will live that long she's battled so much yet is so stubborn and i think that is the way to be.May your gran have a few more birthdays ahead of her.xxx

Thanks everyone, she is definitely a trooper! I got a card and letter from her today actually, she must've gotten some stationery recently because the card had a cat on it and inside she wrote a note as if it were from the cat. And then in the letter she said she just had her 6 month check-up and the doctor says she is doing fine. I wish I had all her good-health genes!!

I wouldn't know what you were talking about, but this past weekend I was back in PA for a family function, and some of the TN family were there too and staying at my mom's house and my cousin said they'll have to get her on the Smuckers something or other.. We were like "What???" And then he explained it and made sense.

I hope she had an awesome day. My mother is still going strong at 97 - I took her her to my doctor this week because she had caught a cold with a sore throat, and I thought you can never be too careful at that age. He gave her some medicines and checked her out and was knocked out by her blood pressure, heart function and weight. He just could not believe she was that age.

Awwww.... a belated Happy Birthday to your Grandma!!! I hope she had a wonderful day. I love that she sent you a note as if it were from a cat!! Bless 'er.

My mom's 94 and still going strong! People in their 90's are great inspiration!!
