Here is another pic of the little dog I found in the forest two weeks ago. He has now been professionally clipped to get rid of the last knots and mats and looks very smart, though maybe not quite as pretty as he did when longhaired. I have been searching for his owner to no avail, but I think I may have found him a home.

I have two families coming to see him this weekend, and so far I cannot choose between them. One has children and no other animals, one is a lady with another Shitzu, wo works in a dog groomers where he would meet lots of other dogs. So, children or dogs - I guess I won't know which is best till I meet them. But they are both very keen and I think either would look after him well. I shall be sorry to say goodbye, and Tasha will be very upset - she really gets on well with him, but I know when I have exceeded my limit of animals to care for. So, fingers crossed.

He is looking good! Great job with him.

Me, I'd lean towards the one with the other dog if the two dogs get on well. His coatis going to require a lot of upkeep so I'd feel good knowing he was going to be with someone that can manage that.

That's what I was thinking. Of course, it might turn out that he loves everybody and everything.
that the decision won't be too difficult.

Well, he has gone to his new home! As soon as I saw him with the kids I knew it was right. He went straight to them, licking their hands and jumping up for a caress. Their mother is a medical doctor and a very sensible person, they have a house with garden for him and we have already made a vet appointment for him to be chipped, vaccinated and neutered. They live only ten minutes away so have promised to bring him back sometimes to play with Tasha - she is already miserable at losing her playmate. The children want to get to know the ponies too, so maybe I have made a new friend as well. All is for the best. I am so glad I did not have to take him to the Pound, with an uncertain future in store.

I got a call to say he had settled down well, slept, eaten and explored his new house with no problems. The lady did say he seemed very nervous of her husband at first but by the end of the evening was sitting on the sofa beside him. Of course, we don't know his history, so he may have reason to be afraid of men. But everything is going to be all right now.

Yay well done Jenny
, its not easy to find a home for a stray dog, sounds like he has gone to a good home and will have kids to play with him.

By the way he looks so much better with his new hair do
