I am stuck in the 80's and 90's. I turn on the radio, and I do not like most of the songs played today. Actually, I can't remember the last time I picked up a 'new' song.

So.. I am looking for good songs to add to my iPod! What's your favorite song?

Lean On Me is my all time favorite song in the whole entire world. However, I do prefer music 90s and back all the way to the 50s.
I am more of a country fan than anything. There is a bazillion awesome country songs though.

Reba McEntire is pretty much the only country singer I have on my playlist, lol.

Since i am hearing impaired, lyrics doesn't really matter TOO much to me.. I'd rather to just listen to the beauty of the voices.. Susan Boyle's voice.. OMG! I could listen to her sing and vocalize all day, lol.

My taste in music spans far and wide across the Globe!

My absolute favourite music genre is Metal! However, I'm also a huge fan of Classical leaning towards the more contemporary classical which is very close to metal

If I had to pick a favourite song, I couldn't come up with just one, but I really love these 2 by a Japanese singer named Kokia.

Say Hi!

Hard to pick a favourite - I have faves in all genres:

Crossroads - Robert Johnson, also covered by Cream, Clapton alone, Etta James
Only Women Bleed - Alice Cooper, covered very nicely by Etta James
Are We in Trouble Now - Mark Knopfler
Don't Worry About Me - Marty Robbins
Muleskinner Blues - Frankie Lane and others, Dolly Parton's version stinks
18 Yelliow Roses - Bobby Darin
Darlin' - Johnny Reed (always thought Tom Jones had the best version of this oldie until last year)
Thing Called Love - Queen
Tears of Jupiter - Train
almost anything Jet and Airbourne put out
almost anything by the Stones. the Animals, Yardbirds, Zeppelin or any other blues based British rock band,
Bat Out of Hell, Two Out of Three, Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf
Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven
Strauss waltzes

I could make a list a mile long for you but am limiting it.

Etta James did "Crossroads"? Wow, I have to find that. I just love her! I love how she belts out "I Just Want to Make Love to You".

My co-worker really likes Robert Johnson.

Do you know where I could find that song?

Thanks!

What kind of music do you like? You have to understand that for me, the "oldies" station doesn't play oldies, it just plays music...

And, of course, the "favorite song" would depend a little on the time and place.

I have an old album of Christian folk/traditional music called "Country Church." It was considered pretty radical for its time (1970 or so), but today it's very tame and comforting. A group named "Wedgwood" did it, and it brings back great memories. A few songs from it:

There's A Light
Arise and Shine
I've Got a Home

One of my all-time favorite songs is "Somewhere Over China," by Jimmy Buffett. But I have a lot of favorites from him.

Somewhere Over China

We saw a "Beatles tribute" group this summer, and I was amazed at how good a lot of their songs still are.

Ticket to Ride
Here Comes the Sun
Intro, etc.

But, if you're stuck in the '80s, I would guess I'm talking too old for you. How about "Video Killed the Radio Star," by the Buggles? The first song ever played on MTV. In fact, in that genre, I'd go with "Money For Nothing," by Dire Straits.

Am I getting warm yet?
