Stinky poop

So I've got cynder to finally eat SOME wet food, about a tablespoon in the morning and a tablespoon at night along with his blue buffalo dry kitten food. my question is since he's been eating some of the wet his poop has become really stinky.. Is it the brand he will ONLY eat FF with the gravy and no other brand will he touch, be it healthy or not healthy.. I don't really want him on the FF but I am happy he is eating some wet so I just keep feeding him that. So is it the brand of food or do cats who eat some or all wet food have stinky poop?

Stinky poop means there was some sort of upset with whatever the cat ate and is not considered normal. It could be the FF itself, it could be because she's not used to wet, it could be something else she is getting into or a treat you are giving her.
I would secretly mix in a *teeny tiny* bit of some other healthier wet cat food (maybe make three layers, FF, new food, FF, so that the new food is hidden inside), and slowly up the percentage of the new food; and I mean realllyyy slowly so we maintain your hard worked progress.

thanks minka i was thinking the same thing. i do think its the ff with all the wheat gluten in it.. is there a healthier brand out there that has the chunks in gravy, since he will not eat any other kind.. he absolutley hates the pates..

Wellness definitely has chunks in gravy, but I'm not sure about other brands. I know Simply Nourish is strips of meat in gravy, but I don't know if that counts.

Soulistic has chunks in gravy, and Avoderm. My kitties love both.

we can't get avoderm up here, but i am going to go out this weekend and buy some of the wellness chunks in gravy as it seems way healthier than the ff obviously.. god send me some vibes please that he will like this stuff and stick to it.. everytime i try a diffrent brand of wet besides the ff he walks away and since he has been eating a bit more wet and seeming to like it i want to eventually get him to 80% wet with some kibble for snacks....

i'm still having this problem with my kitten, i wanted to keep him on blue buffalo but it seemed to give him really bad "BMs" and gas, the vet said it was probably the worms but i'm scared to give it to him again because as soon as i switched those symptoms would stop, good luck on finding whats causing this! (and good luck stinky kitty hehe )

Have you tried mixing foods or do you just plop the new food down in front of him and then trade it out when he doesn't eat it?

i do mix little by little and keep adding more of the new to the old over a 2 week period. he was on wet only a few months ago but hubby was late one night and i had dry food down and although he never ate it he did this time cuz he was hungary. the problem is he never went back to the wet until last week. i put a little dollop out and he has started eating it again, but its FF so i am going to get some wellness and start mixing it with the ff little by little until the transition is complete. he tends not to like the nutritious high quality brands so thats why im hoping the wellness will work. he hates pate types but the ff chunky is giving him the stinky poop and softer bms. i know this because i only gave him a 1/2 teaspoon of ff today and had his dry out. i came home and he went to the litter and had a poop and it was back to being solid tootsie pop type. so i know for a fact its the crappy fillers in the ff..
