My cat just had six kittens two days ago and I found a couple fleas on them. And I'm taking it very seriously, using a flea comb, washing bedding everyday, vacuuming everyday, etc...
But when I searched google for help on the issue, typing "1 day old kittens with fleas" and "2 day old kittens with fleas" I found the following page on ehow.com (which is a fairly respected Do-It-Yourself website):
http://www.ehow.com/how_5591437_rid-...d-kittens.html
The title of the page is "How to Get Rid of Cat Fleas on 2 Day Old Kittens," written "By Greyson Ferguson, eHow Contributor."
Step 6 is listed as:
"Give your kittens a bath with flea shampoo."
Using flea shampoo on 2-day old kittens? This is showing up on the front page of Google with the searches I mentioned. It's ridiculously irresponsible. I just wanted to get this out there, so people are aware of how unreliable top google results can be when looking for cat and kitten care advice.
