cynder just barfed 3 times, and nope it wasn't a hair ball.. Just wondering what could have done it.. I had to feed him bb wilderness canned this morning cuz i ran out of FF medleys, could it have made his tummy upset, or was it the fact that i forgot to pick up the plate with the wet food on it before work today and it went bad and he ate some? What other signs should i look for before a vet emerg. he went pee and poop like normal, but he is now resting on the chair..

Is there any chance he ate something like part of a houseplant, or got into any sort of chemicals? (think cleaning chemicals, makeup, etc.)

How about a bug?

Grass?

Any of those can cause a problem like you describe. Or, just like us, he might have a bit of upset stomach. Just keep an eye on him. Watch for such things as lots of drooling, odd behaviors, etc.

Yes that change in diet could have upset his stomach, in my humble opinion.

Possible yes, cause anything is possible. But I do not think it is likely.

I would not worry if the cat is eating, drinking, urinating, and defecating today like normal. But if he has any of the behaviors MrBlance described I would take him to the veterinarian.

We've had a few feline barfing incidents, none of which were connected with any sickness. As a young cat, Clyde used to wolf down his dry food without chewing it properly, which was a special pleasure to clean up.

The first time Bonnie was sick it was my wife's fault. Bonnie had a belly full of fish and decided she wanted to play. One her favourite games, and the one my wife chose to play with her, involved leaping onto an old sack which was being dragged around the floor in great swirling arcs, a sort of feline roller-coaster. Eventually, my wife got tired, Bonnie got off the sack, gave a pitiful cry and emptied the entire contents of her stomach onto the floor.

That wasn't as incovenient as a more recent episode when Clyde came in in the middle of the night, woke us up with his grumbling, dithered for a minute or two, then jumped onto the bed and immediately threw up, almost in one movement.

On another occasion, my wife watched in horrified fascination as Clyde coughed up a seven-inch grass stem.

well he is fine today!! so either it was the food switch or to our surprise he jumped on the counter last night while dinner was being made
which he has never done so we figured he may have gotten into the corn on the counter and played or ate some. So the new rule in the house is NO ONE is to leave anything on the counters from now on, this is not a bad thing as it will teach hubby to be a cleaner cooker
he loves to cook but hates to clean up..
