Deleting Asian-type fonts

I have a lot of Asian-type fonts in my computer; I guess they came in from Windows updates? Is there an easy way to delete them? I've tried all kinds of stuff and they won't go away. I'm using Vista Ultimate and it keeps telling my that I don't have the authority to delete them. (Actually it tells me that I don't have the authority to do much of anything in Vista I hate Vista.)

Even when I go into properties for the font and try to change authorization, it still won't delete. It's very annoying, esp when I'm trying to add text to a PSP graphic because the PSP text shows every single font I have in the Fonts directory. (My regular fonts I use for PSP are in directories named "PSP Texts One" and so forth....that way it doesn't slow my system down. If I need one of them, I simply go into Explorer, choose the font, go back to PSP and it's there.)

I'd really like to delete the Asian-type stuff. (And I know I have to be careful that I don't delete fonts the system is using.)

Thanks for any help!

Thank you for looking. But that doesn't alway work; in fact, it doesn't work more than it does. Vista is still telling me that I need permission for many of these fonts. It is very frustrating.

Many of those Asian-type fonts came in via Adobe, too, I think. These are the ones that have a @ in front of the name. For example, @Dotum Che is a font name that I'm finding in PSP. Yet I cannot find this in my Windows>>Font file. Very frustrating.

Thank you for your help.

What about this link?

You couldn't pay me to have a computer with Vista on it. I've heard nothing but complaints from people about the security. Before I got my current computer, I had bought one from Dell. It was to have XP on it, but due to problems the first computer with XP had to be returned, and they shipped a new one with Vista. I couldn't stand my Windows giving me a pop up for every single thing I clicked my mouse for. But I returned the computer to them for other reasons.

Maybe look into getting Windows 7? I have that on my laptop and it seems to be pretty much like XP. None of that constant requiring of permissions.

A lot of these Asian fonts are system files and can't be deleted normally. Have you tried going into safe mode and seeing if you can delete them then?

Here is another link to try. They recommend reformatting, but there are 2 other options posted as to how to delete them. Including my idea of trying to do it in safe mode. It also explains how to get into safe mode.

And why those Asian fonts are system files is totally beyond me. I did some online research and found that several people who have successfully deleted them tried to use various program (Word, for one) and the programs don't boot because the files are missing. I guess, despite what a pain in the butt it is to keep them (to me, they're just added bytes and serve no actual purpose), I guess I'd better just keep them.

Yes, I still hate Vista. Too much with the "You Do Not Have Permission to Access this File" and it's my computer and I'm the administrator and such. My understanding was that Vista would allow the user more access, but really? I don't see that as the case with my computer. I really have nothing even halfway decent to say about Vista.

I've heard that 7 is better and may just have to bite the bullet and upgrade. But it really fries my chickens that I have to spend the money to upgrade to an OS simply because Microsoft does not create decent products to begin with.

Thanks for your help.
