Are you coming over for Christmas Dinner?

That's the question my brother asked me today when I returned his "very important" telephone call.

OMG! It's not even the end of September and he's asking me if I'm going over there for dinner 2 months in the future! He probably has the Christmas decorations out already!

I suspect the reason he's asking me now is because he wants me to make cabbage rolls and meat balls again!!! LOL

Well darn, I thought your post was an open invite to everyone!

But yeah, it is just a bit early to be asking about Christmas, but my BIL is anal about things like that. He plans his calendar a year in advance. Me, I'm kind of a last minute person who is like "oh, Christmas Day is next week....guess I should do something..." I'm not sure which is better.

LOL! We've got Thanksgiving to consider yet!!

My cousin has been known to request my Mom's Pumpkin Log a few months in advance though! LOL

Oh yeah, my mom told me two weeks ago when we went to the Mall of America that we'd be having Christmas at their house this year. 'tis the season!!

Ughhh dont remind me. I have grown to slowly despise anything and everything holiday related. There are certain people who feel that its all about them them them and have made some very inconsiderate comments and choices regarding holidays to the point where I would rather sit at home and not speak to anyone or anything.

Ughhhh I just want to crawl in a hole till Jan 2nd.

Some people are like that....I know I am. I don't like last-minute plans, esp if it's me who's going to do the cooking and the cleaning. I always have lists and lists and lists of what's going on for big family dinners.

Like I mentioned in my QOTD post about Christmas, it's not even Halloween yet and we've already decided who's coming here for Christmas dinner. And that's fine with me.

(I have to admit I thought you were inviting us, too. I was all ready to say, "Why sure!" )

Same here!!

Thanksgiving and Christmas have been in the back of my mind. We've done holidays here for the last few years because it was easier to get my DD to nap. The first year I was almost 8 months pregnant with her and DH thought it would be fun because we had our new house and all.... Not that he cooks! But he cleans. Still it was EXHAUSTING to be on my feet that long and I said "never again while pregnant!" At least my Mom always helps.

I miss the days of going to my Grandma's house for holiday dinners! There were more hands to do the cooking back then but man my Gram knew how to make it all look easy!!

The other day one of my friends posted "Only 88 more days until Christmas!" on facebook. Yesterday, she posted that her and her husband had taken a drive to the highway to get a pumpkin spice late from Starbucks while listening to Christmas music. They put their Christmas tree up on November first, I'm sure they'd do it earlier if Halloween weren't in the way, lol.

I work in retail, so I pretty much hate Christmas, lol. Our Christmas stock will start coming in about two weeks before Halloween and we'll start the set up about a week before as the Halloween stock starts to go down. It makes me really sad, to be honest. Probably because I dread December, when we're over worked, under paid, way too busy and we can't book any time off.

I saw a Christmas movie yesterday (Home Alone) playing on TV. I'm like really, it's not October yet!! Though I am all excited about SS so I guess that I shouldn't talk

This year I don't have to worry about Christmas requests ... I planned 2 years ago to go to my grandma's house in NJ Double fun Xmas - I get to spend my first Xmas in 7 years with my grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousin (used to be a yearly tradition when I lived there), and I get to spend Xmas in my favoritest place ever

The thing is he never plans ahead! I'm the planner in the family!

Some folks just get real excited in advance and that is fun. What I don't like is when people let it all get them so stressed out.
