Klaw Kontrol Bag, anyone used this?

Someone posted this link today on a journal I was reading:

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...fm?pcatid=3159

It's a little bag you put your cat into and it unzips near each leg to pull one out at a time to clip their claws, etc.

What are your thoughts on this?

while it may be easier to trim claws this way, but I'd think it'd stress the cat out by putting them in the bag, especially when they learn what the bag's about.

That's what I think. I wasn't thinking about getting one, but was just curious what others thought about it.

AMAZING - a life-saver, cannot say enough about it; IMHO, for beginners, Klaw Kontrol is the best one.
I have used several bags, including Klaw Kontrol, and still use it, every day with Bugsy (Bugsy gets medication everyday for life). Now I use The Cat Sack for Bugsy, which I do not recommend for beginners, and have a KK on the side.

Klaw Kontrol is very malleable, easy to use, and there is a calming effect over the kitty like no other. The bags not only restrain the kitties and calm them down, but leave BOTH your hands completely free to hold their heads and give medicine/feeding in a simple, easy step. Something that would be stressful and time consuming just becomes quick, easy and free of stress.
The least of my use is cutting the nails - medicating, force feeding.... giving hairball medicine.... Giving injections at the vet's office.
I have used over and over at my house, with all 4 of my cats, including Gracie who, when it comes to being touched/handled, is pretty much a little feral.
The cat bags have changed my relationship with Bugsy from being one of stress and fear to one of love and normalcy - it has completely eliminated the stress out of our relationship.
I really really think it is a great tool for any cat owner to have. I have two - one for Bugsy, the Cat Sack, and a Klaw Kontrol that fits everyone else (Bugsy is a giant, kinda). And I am glad I do, as I had to use it through a blockage with Lucky, hairballs, medicines for dentals, etc.
I highly highly recommend having one.
P.S. The Klaw Kontrol bags run small.

No haven't needed one for my uses. My vet used it and seemed to be more of a pain then it was worth(I am taking it they used them often) Anything bad I do I try to have association with good. Done insulin shots and sub-q and pills without to much of an issue.
Think alot is fear-if you get into mind set of this is not going to work and doubt yourself alot of times it will fail, if you go into it confident you will do alot better. Even nails my mom says one fights her like crazy but just sits there for me.

I strongly recommend that you don't buy this bag for several reasons: (1) My cat hated it. The material is somewhat hard and noisy (like a windbreaker jacket), and my cat was instantly afraid of it. You are way better off wrapping your cat in a towel, which is far less traumatic. (2) The design sucks. The inside material kept getting caught in the zipper, so I couldn't quickly zip up the bag. I had to keep pushing the inside material away from the zipper as I was trying to zip it up, which is not easy to do with a struggling, freaked out cat! (3) The manufacturer, John Bachman, does not stand by his product and refuses to give refunds. So you are out $39.90 if your cat hates the bag or, as in my case, it simply does not work because of the zipper (yes, he refused to issue a refund even when the bag was malfunctioning).

I almost bought one of these until I read this review from Amazon and I laughed so hard my belly hurt. It also made me decide against the purchase because it's cheap. LOL!, My cat can pass for hellspawn on a bad day (especially if I'm trying to trim her claws). Everyone on TCS should read this it's hilarious!

The two 10 month old cats I've adopted are seeming savages and think nothing of tearing into me if I dare touch them. This is not the personas they presented when I decided to take them home with me, but that's another story. The simple fact is this bag does not work and lulled me into a state of security that left me brutalized. In a matter of one minute it was in shreds and so were my hands. It was as if the devil himself at burst forth from Hades, accompanied by all his legions of demons. I was in tears and my wife was screaming as the kitten darted around the living room as if it was in a scene from Alien. The sound that came from her tiny vocal cords is something that no one in my home will ever forget and prays they will never hear again. The bag failed and the pain, blood, and agonizing horror still haunt me. The cats continue to do as they wish and we are helpless. Their claws grow longer everyday and they become more unapproachable. I have had cats all my life and have never seen anything like this pair. Perhaps this product would work with an animal who was more domesticated, such as a pet ocelot or cougar. But if your cat enjoys seeing you in pain and inflicts it at its leisure, without hestitation and with a complete lack of empathy for you as its caretaker, this bag will prove useless.

Oh my Gosh, this was funny! So sorry if this was you! 3a.gif
I swear by these bags..... I have these as a beginner bag, per se, and a much stronger one, called the cat sack for my giant guy- Bugsy.... Nothing gets through that one.
The cat bag definitely saved my relationship with my cat, and allowed me to train him to accept medication easily- today he no longer needs it, but goodness, he was impossible to medicate in the beginning.... Without the bag I couldn't done it.... He was taking meds at least twice a day for life, and his life consisted of hiding from me. This bag changed everything.
But, as with everything, you have to know how to use it.... A cat is still a cat.... But imho, it is definitely a huge lifesaver if you have to give daily meds....
I had 4 cats, used on all of them.... Now I have 3.... Still use whenever needed.
I have tried many brands..... While klaw control is definitely not the strongest one, imho it is the easiest one to use.
The strongest is the cat sack.

Again I have absolutely no experience with this product. I pulled that review from Amazon.com as I said in the previous post. I was going to buy it as my little girl hates having her nails clipped, and that poor guy's rant made me decide not to take the plunge. I think realistically it just depends on the cat. My little critter is just resistant to pretty much everything:

-She howls like a banshee in the car, and tries to break her way out of the cat carrier...

-I have tried a million different patient ways of cutting her claws: cutting them one at a time in her sleep (she wakes up and then hides from me for a week), holding her down and cutting them all at once (she howels the whole time, and pulls her paw away just as I'm about to cut and I'm afraid I'm going to cut her, and letting the vet cut them on her last visit ( I don't think they did b/c they didn't look like they'd been cut)

-She will roll, lick, kick, and rub off any topical medication (flea & tick) you apply to her within a couple of hours so I have to apply an E-collar to her for a day until it dries (which makes her miserable). You'd think she'd just not lick it off but NOOOOO! That's too easy...

Don't get me wrong she's a wonderful kitty. I love her more than life itself. She's loveable and playful and so much fun to be around. She has a great personality. She's just a nut when it comes to having anything done to her.
