My 'Brilliant' Idea

So I had a brain fart but a good one. A while back we got this giant old school big screen tv for free. Well it took a poop. So I got an idea based off someone elsewhere idea. Im going to gut it do some remodeling to it and.......turn it into a cat zone. Special for the cat room. Lol we are going to get started tonight with tearing it apart and getting the basics ready to figure out exactly what we are gonna do to it. The basic idea is to turn the empty speaker area into a mini lounge. The empty screen area into a lounge with some toys and the interior walls with some spare carpet or cardboard for scratching.

Im so excited. I totally expected df to shoot down my idea but he was excited because less for him to get rid of or scrap and I get a cat thingie without spending money.

Im going to update this thread with pictures as it progresses. Im hoping to have it done this weekend.

Update!!

Well last night I got the tv gutted. Pain in the batookus but its done. I ammended my original plan because a better idea came about after i got it torn apart. Im gonna take a picture when the light is better. All the monsters have already been playing in it or on it. I just need to get my plywood measured and get df to cut it to fit and get it screwed in place and then I can take over from there with figuring out what Im going to use or make for the 'lounge' spaces. Im thinking that Im gonna get some faux sheep skin/fur whatever it is but that fluffy stuff that they line jackets with, and some quilt batting to make cushioned bottoms for both levels. Puffy paint to put fishies on the inside of the screen and some dangle toys to hang off the top.

Sooo excited!!! This idea is turning out better than I thought.

My co-worker found an old dry sink without doors. He is repairing it and not adding doors. He's decided to sand it down and re-finish it. And instead of doors, he's putting large, fluffy pillows in it. And then he's giving it to his GF for her two cats to use as beds. Bunk beds! I think that's pretty cool! (Although I think both cats will probably end up together on the top bed.)

the rest of the tv. We are gonna make it two levels of lounge area and then some dangle toys and fishies on the screen. Kitty tv.
