It looks like it's me and the internet today. I'm stuck at home while plumbers work on a huge pipe behind one of my walls. It's been leaking down two floors. This building is over 35 years old and I think was put together cheaply, so all the pipes are going at once. They were worried it was going to burst, so they're replacing it.

*sigh* I hate being trapped at home for stuff like this - but at least it's being done. We've been trying to coordinate times for over a month!

Poor Larry is so freaked out. He's hiding in the closet, way in the corner. The closet is part of the dressing room/bathroom area, so I have the dressing room door closed, and his food in there, and his litterbox in the bathroom. Everytime I have to go in there I just mention his name, telling him it's all right, but I'm basically leaving him alone. But they're making alot of noise. He hates noise.

yeah, I rent too.... that's what's been so frustrating. I'm in a big apartment building, and it all has to be coordinated with the other tenants.

Binky's adorable!

Ok,I get it. Hanging around and waiting for management to show up. That is so frustrating. And boring and you cant do anything involved or leave to do errands, on and on. I could just say they have my permission to enter, but heck no! I have pets that i would not trust them to watch what they are doing.

Hey the M.Jackson M.D trial is on the news all aft?
Or may be just sort my laundry..

I did!!!! I will post pictures! Ohmigosh.... it was so beautiful and relaxing, and people here in NY are saying, "You're so tan! Why are you tan?" So, of course, I'm loving telling them about beautiful Isla Mujeres.

Yeah, that's why I pretty much insisted that I be home when they did this. They kept asking, "Couldn't you just give the super your key and they'll do it and lock up?" No way. I did not want Larry in here alone with all that crap going on. Much better this way.

I know, right?!

But.....very efficient work by the plumbers! They're already done! Now the maintenance guy has to come up and seal up the wall again.... then I suppose I'll have to wait for a new paint job.
Oy. But at least that pipe is fixed!! Yay!

Well, could be excellent time to view favorite Emergency episodes.

Didja ever wonder if they experimented to see how much food Randy could stuff in his mouth and still be understood?

Yeah, I expected it to last all day!
They just called me from the office - it's lunchtime, so the guys won't be up until 1 PM to seal up the wall. But at least the office called me. It's scary. This building has suddenly become efficient!
I might actually have most of the afternoon to do stuff!

Jan..... LOL!

Yeah, it does suck to have to have work done like that. I'm sure Larry is glad the big bad plumbers are gone! I hope the new wall doesn't take too long to do, though that shouldn't be too noisy at least...

In the apartment either me of BF wanted to be home too, but we never had anything major like a pipe replacement, just some quick maintenance things. We did have to have the kitchen sink unclogged on my birthday (day after xmas)... I ended up washing xmas dinner dishes in the tub! Ah, memories..

In early August we had a new roof put on the house, which lasted Tuesday-Friday. It was not fun. I could've gone out I guess, cos they didn't need to get in the house at all (they never even asked to use the bathroom!?!) but I felt I should be there in case they had any questions or issues, which they did a few times. Poor Dorothy HATED the noise. Somehow squished herself under the loveseat to hide. Genever wasn't bothered at all though, which surprised me.
