CISCO, is home just now and he has his whole tale bandaged up and it now makes a great weapon! His tail is stitched up in 3 different places.

His side is a huge patch about 4" big and the branch tore some muscles which have been stitched up and the Vet also had to cut and remove the flap of skin that was hanging from his side. He stretched more side skin to cover up the hole so that the blood would be able to circulate properly. We have to take him back to the Vet on Tuesday to have the bandages changed, he's on Antibiotics for 10 days.

I'll keep you posted!

Just another short update on Cisco. We just came back from the Vets for a bandage change and now he has to wear an Elizabethan collar. I really hate those collars because it limits the animals line of sight.

However, I also really like the collars as they really do stop the animal from licking where they are not supposed to lick, which helps them heal faster without infections.

I'm giving him antibiotics orally and also applying a topical anitbiotic. I'm also giving him hot compresses 4 times a day with Epson Salts. He is totally cut off from the kittens as they think that his tail is something new to play with and the same goes for the collar. He goes back to the Vet on Aug. 28th hopefully to have the stitches removed from his tale and his side.

Also, Legolas is going to make that special trip to the Vet this Thursday to be neutered. Like my hands aren't full enough has it is. Also on the 28th Aragorn will also be going in to be neutered as well. I haven't gotten much sleep and probably won't get anymore for a while. So, I won't be here as often as I like.

Thanks to Everyone!

Just reading this now! Speedy recovery Cisco! And many 'good neutering vibes' going out to Aragon and Legolas on their upcoming surgeries!!

(And I'll also throw in some 'catch up on sleep' vibes for you for free)

Thank you to everyone that replied in this thread!

Cisco has had the stitches removed and his healing totally wiped me out!

Aragorn had trouble coming out of the anesthetic when he got neutered and had to be left at the Vets until he could stand, drink and eat. The Vet thought that we were going to lose him and it took him 2 days to fully recover from this experience. Legolas is just fine from his neutering experience, no side affects nothing.

This whole experience has just made me very sick for a while and this is the first time that I've been back to the site. I'm still not 100% but I'm slowing down and working on it. I missed you all terribly so I just had to come in and read some things and give you an update.

Thank you all so very much!

I guess I'm not really ready to come back and post I keep forgetting to put things down. Thank you Sicy I just hope that I don't have to go through anymore! Aragorn is doing just fine now he's back to his young self and getting into mischief. I found him lying in the refriderator the other day when I was trying to clean it out!

I'll take all the hugs I can get right now!
