I have recently just rescued 2 strays the showed up on my deck we look for their owners ans no one claimed them. So we have adopted them one is a female torti who was real sick when we first got her she was real thin and her eyes were cloudy, she had a pus like substance comeing out of her back end. We took to the vet and she had a infection in her uterus. when the vet spayed her and took put her uterus it feel apart in the vets hand. The vet said that if we just let it go she would have been dead in a day or two at the most. Then we also have a male brown tabby named Buddy and he was thin also ad we look for his owner and he has none so we have taken him in as well he doesnt have a dramatic story tho. he is a sweetheart n loves attention.

I just have to say that sounds like the worst case of pyometra (infection of the uterus) I have ever heard of. As a veterinarian technician I have heard of many pyometra cases and seen many cases as well.

So your veterinarian was not exaggerating the severity of the case. Your female cat is a very very lucky girl!

Welcome to TCS.

You are a good person indeed to take those two littleones in and keep them. Vet bills are not cheap, and I have to say from experience here in the deep south, there are not many people who will 'toss out' good money for a cat's care. They just feed occasionally and when they get big enough to damage the house, they turn them out. I feed many of those 'turnouts' every day (along with the two raccoons and one little opossum.)

Good health to the little girl, and to the little boy too.
