Is it possible to buy Tapazole online? and or at a retail store?

My cat has hyperthyroidism for the past three years and needs two tablets a day, which i have been doing.

Incidentally, it has been pretty easy for me to give my cat 2 pills a day. I do it with a can of cat food. My cat know when she hears the pill bottle being open, and swallows the pill, she immediately get a can of cat food.

Several sites sell it. It's not cheap though. I just checked 1800-petmeds and they want $1.79 for one 5mg pill. Have you checked with a compounding pharmacy to see if you can get it cheaper? Some drugs are a lot more expensive through a compounding pharmacy while others are a lot cheaper. Check with Roadrunner Pharmacy in AZ and Keefer's Pharmacy in IL.

I saw that about petmeds, i thought i was misreading the price or not understanding something about the pill, other than the mg amount.

You can definitely take a prescription from you vet to a local pharmacy, and it's often cheaper. Call around and see what they can offer--some pharmacies may have special discounts for certain generic drugs. Check with Costco, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, etc. The generic for Tapazole is methimazole, and it will be much cheaper than the brand name.
