Hello. My kitty has been sick recently. He had some urinary tract issues and I took him back to the vet for a follow up appointment after he was cathed for a few days. I mentioned to the vet that his ears have been more sensitive lately and he told me that he has a condition where his ears produce too much wax and he is getting an infection. He prescribed a syringe of BNT in each ear plus an antibiotic. I gave the first treatment of the BNT and the antibiotic pill yesterday and today my cat has been complaining a lot. I am really worried. I want to think that the medicine is working and getting all the bad stuff out of his ears, but because of the urinary problem I wonder if I am worrying way too much. He is eating, drinking, and using the litter box, so I am not too overly cautious yet, but I am keeping an eye out. Any suggestions or anyone know about this?

We've used BNT successfully to treat a yeast infection in Callie's ears before. I don't think it's uncomfortable for them or anything, but with all the goop in their ears, it's hard for them to hear and it might affect equilibrium. The body will absorb the meds in about 2 weeks.
