Could use some advice

Cindy has a URI. I think Swanie has caught it. He's not sneezing or coughing, but he's pretty listless and has clear liquid coming from his left eye. The problem is, the vet is out of town and can't get hold of her until Monday. I talked to one of the vet tech's who said the vet wouldn't want her prescribing anything with being able to look at him. He wasn't too bad earlier, but he seems even more listless now. I don't know if I should just wait til Monday for the vet to get back or should he go see an EVet? I would really like to get him started on Meds, but I also would really like him to be seen by our regular vet who knows him. What do you think I should do?

yay!

i know vets already have demanding jobs but i still wish more 24 hr emergency room type places were around for pet owners. I know i would feel alot more comfortable knowing i always had a close place to go.

ok mini rant done lol - hope your baby gets better soon!

I love my vet because she has the clinic phone transferred to her phone and answers during off hours. And she says to call her any time. She really does love cats, she has a ton of special needs rescue cats, both at her home and the clinic.

But I agree with you, there should be more ER places for pet owners. Like with people, it seems as though things come up on the weekends more often than not.
