One of my all time horror/sci-fi movies remake coming out....THE THING

Yes.

And from what I gather it is more of a prequel to the JC movie.

I won't see it. I loved "The Thing" and watch it to this day. I would love to see it re-released on the big screen. But that won't happen because Hollywood is full of movies that are remakes and re-imaging of good movies. Most of the new stuff stinks.

Actually, the original is The Thing from Another World, made in 1951, and John Carpenter's version is a remake! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0044121/

I love both of them - very different movies! It'll be interesting to see the next remake!

Just watched the 1982 JC version last night!!! OMG was it soooooo good. A bit like Aliens too but better IMO... Highly recommend it.

Awesome, you watched it and liked it!!?? Like I said, love this movie! I think the effects were amazing for it's time and still! Such a chilling preface, how the music and cinematography draws you in. It's so different then John Hawks' original 1951 version......
Funny, I never thought about comparing Alien, I never saw them similar......both great movies of all time!
