Hello,
My kitten Cora is about 8 weeks. We got her from the shelter on Thursday. She will NOT stop meowing, not for a second. I don't even know what she wants, nothing ever works. She seems healthy.... she doesn't seem like she wants me to hold her or give her attention, cuz then she keeps crying...
any advice?

Thanks! Hurry... haha

Shes very young just a baby. She misses her mom and siblings.Shes been in a shelter. Now shes in another new strange place. Keep her warm and in a fairly quiet area of your home. And make sure shes eating. Give her attention and confined to one room for awhile.

Unless she has some other underlying problem, such as deafness, she is just saying, "Mama, here I am! I'm lost and alone! Pay attention to me! Show me what I'm supposed to be doing! Hey, brothers and sisters, let's play! I found a bug! I found a string! I found a dust bunny! I found a corner! I found a door! I found a box! I found a curtain! I found a window! Where's the litter box? Where's the food bowl? When do we eat again? I found a sunbeam! I found a warm spot! I found another bug! I've got an itch! My tail is chasing me! And..."

Yes, that is just what kittens do. She probably feels lost right now. Was she with littermates when you got her? At 8 weeks, she probably hasn't been alone long. Perhaps you should consider another kitten for company.

Poor thing, she's missing her mom & siblings. If possible, you might want to go back and adopt a friend for her.
Otherwise, she might like a soft small stuffed animal for a friend.
