Here's Cora! We got her from the shelter on Sunday, they said she's about 2 months. Boy... she is a HANDFUL, and so MESSY.
For example, I took this picture right now:

I've been fighting a losing battle to keep this kitten clean hahaha

Yeah, at that age they're pretty approximate when it comes to self-grooming. Cora looks a lot like our little former foster ZZ; he just could not keep himself very clean at first. As he grew a little older, he turned into a sleek black beauty.

Hi and welcome to TCS
. I
your little Cora. I am a sucker for
cats
. Most cats as Mrblanche said do grow out of that "messy phase".

It depends on the individual cat/kitten. But it often decreases over time

She just precious. When I first read the subject line I have to admit I kind of chuckled at the name "Cora" but then I opened up the thread and I said, "Yeah. She is a Cora!" Her name fits her.

Welcome to the site!

Awww...she's darling.

The constant meowing...she needs a kitten friend.

Beautiful little one. Welcome to both of you. Looking forward to seeing the little one grow up in pictures. Enjoy your time here.
I'm sure it would, and I wanted to get two. The shelter was even having a 2-for-1 deal, but my boyfriend was really adamant about only getting one, and we live together. Actually, he wanted 0, so compromise! hahaha

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone!
Cora is in a really aggressive hyperactive phase, and sometimes she even hisses. I'm pretty sure it's play. We never play with her with our hands, but she still finds them to be better than any toy around

I hope the boyfriend is getting "cat friendly." When I taught high school, I always advised the girls not to get serious about guys who didn't like cats.

A kitten is not bad training for a baby. They are pretty independent, don't obey much, and can get into everything.

He loves animals, luckily. I could never be with anyone who didn't! He just was worried about not having enough time really, since we visit family on the weekends a lot, and are away on weekends. He's so good with her.
She's really good in the car too! We went on a 4 hour trip and she was so good, and even meowed to use her litter box.
