vibes for my sister's cat

My sister in Canada rushed her cat, Angel, to the vet. Angel suffered an embolism and her rear legs are paralyzed. The vet gave her 10 - 50 % chance of recovery. Anyone have experience w/ this disease? What's the cause? Is there really a cure?
In the meantime, please send some vibes to ease the suffering of Angel and my sister.
Thank you.

for your sisters cat. I wish I could be some help, but I have no idea about the illness in question .

Please let us know what happens.

Thank you!
I'm also not familiar with embolism in cats. But I know that in humans it's painful so Angel must be having a hard time. Poor kitty.

Unfortunately, most of the treatments I know of for humans won't work or can't be used on cats. I hope her vet knows of something.

This is what killed Dottie's little lover, Truman, way early. He was only 6 years old. And he suffered a lot before the finality occurred.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can lead to a saddle thrombus.
Quote:
Typically, cats that are predisposed to saddle thrombus have underlying cardiac disease that increases turbulence to the flow of blood through the heart. This increased turbulence makes these patients more prone to the formation of clots. Cats with hyper-thyroidism are prone to a cardiac condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Therefore, saddle thrombus tends to be associated with cats that have hyperthyroidism.
Mega for your sister's cat. I've heard of cats recovering from a saddle thrombus, so maybe Angel will be one of the lucky ones.

Good news everyone! Angel is recovering. It turns out the embolism was not caused by a blood clot but a "drifting piece of cartilage". Would you believe that? She had arthritis of the pelvis and somehow the cartilage traveled where it shouldn't. My sister will also bring her for acupuncture which will speed up the healing.
Thank you all for your thoughts and healing vibes.
