My sister and I share an apartment and we decided to adopt kittens 1 1/2 years ago. We have a male and female from different litters but they were together at the shelter so they act like siblings. Our lease is out in November and my sister and I are moving in with our longtime boyfriends which means our cats will have to be separated. I can't ask my sister to leave her baby behind and she can't bring both to her boyfriend's apartment. Here's where I'm not sure what to do....my cat, the girl, is very playful and energetic and I'm afraid that if she's alone her separation will be even more traumatic. Should we look into adopting a "replacement"? And if we do would it be smarter to adopt a kitten so we don't have two cats that are set in their ways? If anyone has experience in this type of situation, please help.
