Do you have red light cameras in your area? Or do you ever get called for jury duty?

This article tells about a couple of new scams that you need to be aware of. Basically, they're claiming to be collecting an overdue traffic light ticket or a missed jury duty fine.

Thank you for the heads-up. We don't have the cameras in our area. I've never been called for jury duty.....but would like to be.

Thanks for the warning.

I've been called for jury duty once about 5 years ago. It was an interesting experience
I think some areas around have red light cameras, but not many.

We have a few red light cameras around. The town north of us (Duncanville) got really extreme with theirs. They were sending out tickets if you stopped past the stop line or if you rolled over the stop line before making a right turn on red.

We actually had some friends who got a letter about a long overdue red light ticket. It was on a car they had sold and the buyer had not registered it, just kept the old plates on it. The buyer finally paid the ticket, but it had gone from $75 to $150 in that amount of time.

I've actually heard of the jury scam before. Dottie and I usually get called for jury duty about once per year. She has served on two juries, but I've never been picked. Came close a couple of years ago for a drunk driving case, but when they discovered I am a truck driver and have about 2,000,000 miles without an at-fault accident but have been hit by 3 drunk drivers in that amount of time, they decided against me!

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Our town just installed those cameras at every redlight and the strip has them at almost every light also. I never worried about them because I always stop behind the line and 99% of the time I stop on yellow unless Im way too far ahead to stop then I keep going. I dont really worry about that stuff because I know just about everyone who works at the courthouse so if I got something for a ticket or jury duty Id go in to the courthouse and get the info about it first.

We have red-light cameras here and I just was called for jury duty in the past year. DH is exempt for medical reasons.

I would not fall for that but imagine the elderly falling for it.
