Why doesn't he want me to take a bath?

Whenever I take a bath, if I forget to close the bathroom door to keep him out, Moose climbs onto the toilet and meows frantically and *loudly* at me! It is much louder and more insistent than the "I'm hungry" meow or the "I don't want to be in the carrier" meow -- the *only* time I ever hear him meow like this is when I'm taking a bath!

Very loud meows (loud enough I worry about the person in the next apartment hearing him), 2-3 seconds apart, constantly until I finally get out of the bathtub.

It's not a problem -- I can easily close the bathroom door to keep him out when I want a bath -- but I am curious why he does this. He obviously feels quite strongly about whatever it is he's trying to say! Any ideas what this is about/why he does it?

Well, if you go with the theory that cats view us as either their mother or their kitten, then he's worried about you being in the water.

However, I've found that getting out of the tub or shower brings all of ours into the bathroom.

My cat Easy does that, too. And if you have your arm resting on the side of the tub, she will paw at your arm while meowing.

She does not like me in the bathtub at all.

I now just make sure I close the door, because it upset her so much.

She is a Mom cat to the rest of my kitties and the babies use to like to go into the bathtub and play and she would do the same thing to them, just being in the tub with no water running.

See this is what Turtle did to me a couple months ago when I was in the tub!! Paced back and forth crying to me, then grabbing my hand and leg to pull me out. I think she was trying to save me from drowning

In my house, the cats protest almost anything you do that doesn't involve them!

Funny, funny!

My Ralph doesn't cry for things, he simply insists upon them. Whenever I get the luxury of taking a nice relaxing bath, he spends the whole time balancing on the tub rim while clawing my legs and feet out of the water. It doesn't seem to matter to him how hot the water is, either, he's determined to save me from it no matter what - or how long - it takes.

Gotta love the little fur-faces!

Strange, I've never had a cat get frantic over my taking a bath.
Spaz, however, will sit on the edge of the tub and watch me with keen interest.

My cat (up until this past week) would immediately lie down on the bat mat outside of the tub whenever I take a shower, and remain there the whole time. Every once in a while, he would meow and want me to open the door for him to peek in.

My younger cat Rasta acts like she wants to jump in and will hover around the tub and cry a bit like she's missing out on something. She likes to jumb in after I'm out of the shower and the tub is still wet. I guess she likes a little bit of water on her paws...lol. She won't go near the toilet though. I've tried sitting her on the toilet (with the top down of course) and she cries but she doesn't mind being put in the bathtub if it's dry or just a little wet. I never tire of cat behavior it's always entertaining to observe...lol

Maggie doesn't try to save me but she does give you the stare down that makes you slightly uncomfortable LOL!

My SO is a dog person and is quickly learning about cats. I had to tell him that one does not close the bathroom door on a cat. They'll just sit outside and cry until you let them in.

Bijou has to sit on the vanity while I shower and stays there until I've finished drying, deodorizing, etc. He only leaves when the hair dryer comes out.
