Made a vet appointment for Tony tomorrow morning. He's been throwing up lately --- just a brown liquid. Tony has never been a cat that throws up much at all. He had occasionally coughed but didn't throw up. This has been going on for a week or so. I hope it's nothing --- but want to check it out, since it's not like him. He appears healthy, appetite is good. He's around 10 1/2 yrs old now. Pls send good thoughts for Tony - 10 am tomorrow morning.

Lana I hope everything is all right with Tony. It's good you're taking him to the vet since he is a senior kitty. Let us know the outcome of the visit and sending Tony lots of good luck .

Best wishes for a good appointment - and that if anything's amiss, it's easily treatable. Good for you on being proactive and not delaying a visit, especially for a mature kitty.

Saturday morning -- just got back from the vet. Tony's heart and lungs sound good. Had a slight temperature (not much) so he gave us some antibiotics. We decided to go ahead and do a full senior cat blood workup on him. Don't want to take any chances, since he's 10 1/2. And if there is anything that shows up it would be treatable. Overall the dr said he looks very good -- told him he's a "handsome cat" .... but we tell him that all the time He screamed his little lungs out all the way to the dr's office, but of course was quiet on the way home. They always seem to know that the worst is over and they're going home.

Thanks everyone for your concern . Just got a phone call from the vet who said that Tony's blood work came out great --- no problems with thyroid, liver, kidney, etc. I was concerned about kidney failure because we had lost 2 cats in the past to kidney disease. He said to continue with the Purina One food he is eating, but stick to the sensitive systems and also give him more wet food. Tony still vomits from time to time, but maybe that's part of being a "senior". I'm SO relieved. I was really so worried about the blood test results. Now I can sleep better. Tony is sitting here next to the computer monitor and he said to say "Hi" to eveyone and thank you for worring about him.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Maybe the throwing up is part of being a senior cat. Not quite as often though, so maybe the antibiotic is helping.

Nice to see there's another "Tony" out there. We always call him Tony-Baloney. The name Tony came from when we adopted him from a lady who runs a cat adoption service out of PetSmart, the girl at the counter in PetSmart asked to see our little "tiger" when we were leaving. So immediately Tony the Tiger came to mind --- and that's how Tony became "Tony".
