My cat caught a mouse today. She started to play with it. She repeatedly tossed in the air and then ate it. Good girl.

The juggling act is quite a show, isn't it?

My two indoor/outdoor domestic short hairs do that before they eat the mouse they caught. But since one is six years old and one is at least eleven years old they do not "play" with it for more then twenty minutes now before consuming there prey. When they where younger they would spend hours "playing" with there prey.

Now my F3 Savannah will spend two hours "playing" with his prey before he consumers it. This is why he is fed his feeder mouse in an easy clean room . Though he is not messy yet, I do not want to risk such a mess on my carpet .

To the OP the behavior you saw is perfectly normal cat behavior.
