Anyone Own a Scottish Fold?

Hi all.
I'm about to lose my cat soon due to a number of different illnesses including Kidney Disease. He's 17 years old and quite a fighter.

Anyway, after the grieving process is over and I've spent some time celebrating the life of my sweet cat, I planned to get a scottish fold kitten. Usually I get my animals from the pound but I i said that just once in my lifetime I would love to get a scottish fold kitten due to their incredibly sweet and loving disposition....

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here has bought a Scottish Fold and can recommend a reputable breeder? I'm in the Northern California area......
I know they are pricy, but I've been saving for awhile...Also, it doesn't have to be a folded ear.

I have a Scottish Fold, but I'm located in Finland so can't give any cattery recommendations. Good breed choice though.

If you have difficulties in finding one, you could consider a British Shorthair if the folded ears indeed aren't necessary? They pretty much look like Scottish Straights with minor differences, as foldies are (usually) bred with a Brit in every generation to avoid health issues related to the Fd-gene. BSHs are very charming too. (My own BSH stud is my Scottish Fold's father).

Hi and welcome to TCS . I am very sorry about your other cat. I have no real experience with Scottish Fold cats sorry . I would recommend you make a post in the breeders corner section of this message board.
