Defrag problems...

I have done a defrag a few times but it seems to always change things on my computer. The last time tho it really messed me up, with my Word, Excel and even my photo's. Is this normal. Anyway I have heard of doing a Restore which lets me go back to a certain date and everything is the way it was before the defrag. I can still do the things I did before but in a different way.

Do you know how I would do a Restore and is it safe, thanks.

NOTE: I did find how to Restore but any date I chose that were hi-lited were unsuccessful. Don't know why it didn't work, so the Restore option didn't really help me at all.

Hmmm. Defraging your computer shouldn't cause any problems with your programs.

Have you scanned your computer for virus and malware?

I have checked everything. Another cause for this problem is that my computer was down for 5 days when I had no power from the storm we had. I just don't understand why the Restore did not work, oh well I will just have to deal with things the way they are for now.
