Can you use the regular version of Rescue Remedy, the one that is sold at GNC, for cats? It does contain a small amount of alcohol which the pet version doesn't. I have heard that the amount of alcohol is negligible though and that it's okay to give it to animals but I just wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with it.

Thanks

I'm going to have to call the vet and ask. It's a very tiny amount of alcohol that shouldn't have any effects. I'm pretty sure that you can use it for pets but I will check with the vet first.

Yes, many people used rescue remedy LONG before they had the version with glycerine available (us included). The cat doesn't ingest it directly, so it's not an issue. It's something you dab JUST A LITTLE behind their ears, under the chin, and at the base of the tail, and/or add a FEW drops to their water dish(es). The alcohol evaporates quickly.

Rescue Remedy is not something where more is better.

Ditto.. depending on school of thought the alcohol version is sometimes recommended as it does dissipate ... why glycerin has a semi direct link to diabetes in cats
