I just stumbled upon this website tonight, what perfect timing! On August 4th, my 6 year old baby boy Jasper passed away after a sudden kidney infection. The next week I got engaged so I really did not have time to grieve losing him. Now that the excitement of the engagement has died down I have circled around in the grief cycle.
Jasper was a very spirited kitty who loved eating lettuce, playing with plastic tealight holders, chewing up non edible items, and cuddling in the mornings. Often times he acted like a watchdog- sleeping in between me and the front door every night. He was not an ordinary cat, and required the house to be "Jasper proof."
I am so happy I got to spend 6 years of my life with him. He was a big ball of fluff!
The day he passed away I was visiting him in the hospital and he reached out his paw through the kennel, something he had never done before. I truly believe this was his way of telling me goodbye. I was so blessed to have one of the best vet hospitals guide me through those last days providing support and excellent care.
I miss him every day!
Thank you for letting me share! It is so nice to know there are people out there who understand what it is like to lose a pet.
